About Us
Fifty
years ago, only one person in four survived cancer. Today,
nearly half of all Americans who develop cancer will survive
the disease. Much of the progress made in cancer survival
is a direct result of scientific research aimed at early detection,
better diagnostic methods and more effective treatment.
Providence Cancer Center, a partnership of Holy Family Hospital
and Sacred Heart Medical Center,
offers some of the best, most comprehensive cancer services in
the Inland Northwest. It is the only cancer center in Eastern
Washington with state-of-the-art services from prevention and
screening to the end of treatment and recovery, and is recognized
as a Center of Cancer Excellence by the American College of Surgeons.
In carrying out the commitment of the Sisters of Providence
to provide quality care for all who need it, Providence Cancer
Center has been treating people with cancer for over a century.
Mother Joseph, the Sister who founded and built Sacred Heart
Medical Center, died of cancer. So, we have
made it our mission to offer the services Mother Joseph required
for herself and imagined for everyone.
